Recognition

ADOT understands the importance of its partners within the community.  The success of the Arizona DBE Program depends on the efforts of DBEs, contractors, and consultants to ensure that excellence is achieved in our federally assisted projects.   Each quarter ADOT will recognize a DBE Trailblazer, a Construction Champion, and a Consultant Champion for their outstanding performance and partnering efforts. DBE Trailblazer: Kuniklo

Kuniklo provides strategy and technical support to contractors and agencies tangled in a web of federal, state, and local regulations; our strength is economic development.  For less than the cost of hiring a staff person, Kuniklo provides their clients with solutions for small business utilization, local hiring programs, and prevailing wage compliance on publicly-funded construction projects.  Kuniklo strategies are measurable and can be implemented immediately.

Kuniklo customers are government agencies, private developers, and contractors who receive federal funds, directly or indirectly, which require measurable economic impact during construction projects.

Through professional consulting services, Kuniklo interprets government regulations into action plans and communicate them to project stakeholders.  They offer electronic tools to monitor progress and provide real-time status.  They provide on-site or project-specific staff to monitor for compliance and deliver on reporting requirements.  They also provide technical assistance to project subcontractors so that understanding and implementation is achieved at all levels.

Construction Champion: Arizona Chapter of the Associated General Contractors

The Arizona Chapter Associated General Contractors supports the Arizona Department of Transportation recent revisions to the DBE program and endorses the ADOT Supportive Services group in their endeavors to create subcontracting opportunities for small contractors  and service suppliers performing transportation related services.

The Arizona Chapter, Associated General Contractors (AZAGC), chartered in 1934, is a not-for-profit association of general contractors, subcontractors, and other construction industry affiliated firms engaged in highway, heavy, industrial and municipal-utility construction.

Since our inception, AZAGC has been instrumental in bringing about economic and key infrastructure in Arizona through involvement in legislative affairs, specification reviews, labor matters, highway budgeting and appropriations, education and training, and many other subjects of importance to AGC members statewide.

Issues surrounding the construction industry today are very demanding.  The AZAGC provides contractors with a forum through which they can join together as an organized and cooperative effort to truly protect their interests and better shape the future of their industry.

Vision

To be the voice of the construction industry and continuously improve the quality of life for our employees, their families and our community.

Mission

The Arizona Chapter Associated General Contractors represents its members and serves the community by building and supporting a strong, sustainable, safe and responsible construction industry.
